HaDSCO and Ahpra team up to meet Perth crowds 21 November 2023 It was a fantastic couple of days getting out and meeting people at PrideFEST Fairday and Have a Go Day with our friends from Ahpra. Fairday at Hyde Park was an opportunity to celebrate the large and varied LGBTIQA+ community, have some great chats and find out more about how we can help rainbow communities. Have a Go Day at Burswood Park drew in WA’s senior community with displays featuring entertainment, leisure and maintaining health; the best things to look forward to after retirement. HaDSCO and AMA resolute on standard of health care 08 November 2023 Sarah Cowie, HaDSCO’s Director, met with Dr Michael Page, Australian Medical Association (AMA) WA’s President, to discuss how both agencies can work together to ensure Western Australians receive a high standard of health care. “The meeting with Dr Michael Page provided an excellent opportunity to discuss information about our new function under the Code of Conduct for certain health workers. I also shared details about the benefits of our complaints function and the outcomes we achieve in the interests of delivering patient-centred health services. I am truly appreciative of the positive and enthusiastic support expressed by Dr Page for the services provided by HaDSCO, and look forward to continuing to work with the AMA to ensure positive outcomes for the health service users of Western Australia,” said Sarah. Insights, innovations, and challenging the status quo with Ahpra 13 October 2023 Deputy Director, Correne Bartlett, joined more than 300 delegates from across Australia at Aphra’s National Scheme Combined Meeting in Melbourne, the first one held since the COVID lockdowns. The group heard about trends and developments in the Australian health sector with a focus on insights, innovations and how to challenge the status quo. The take home message – working together strengthens the sector and shared knowledge is imperative for innovation.
