Data Collection Reports Available 22 December 2021 The Health and Disability Services Complaints Office collects information from private, public and not-for-profit organisations every year through its Data Collection Program. The Office publishes two reports, on health and disability, which provide an in-depth analysis of the external complaints trends. The latest Disability Services Data Collection Report 2015-16 to 2020-21 is now available to download here. The latest Health Complaints Trends Report 2016-17 to 2020-21 is now available to download here.

National Code of Conduct for health care workers 16 December 2021 National Code of Conduct for health care workers On 25 November 2021 the Health and Disability Services (Complaints) Amendment Bill 2021 to implement a National Code of Conduct for health care workers (National Code) was introduced to the Western Australian Parliament. This Bill will amend the Health and Disability Services (Complaints) Act 1995. The purpose of the National Code is to protect the public by setting minimum standards of conduct and practice for all unregistered health care workers who provide a health service. It will set national standards for disciplinary action to be taken and if necessary, a prohibition order can be issued in circumstances where a health care worker’s continued practice presents a serious risk to public health and safety. Since opening on 16 September 1996, it has received over 50,000 complaints, resulting in over 1,200 service improvements.
